the twins
This is ridiculous. Found via Bob Kronbauer on Club Mumble, who describes what you’re about to see perfectly:
Remember that one little kid who went pro early? And how he skated like a little kid when he was a little kid but he could do all the tricks? These little kids, Pierce and Chris Brunner, skate like dudes.
True story.
kelli anderson
Totally gratuitous but also totally awesome. A paper record player by artist Kelli Anderson.
dynamo for japan red cross

Remember our friends at Dynamo in Montreal? The folks that gave away a copy of their book Status all those aeons ago? Well, they’ve just released a t-shirt to help support the people of Japan. ALL proceeds from sales of the shirt go to Japan’s Red Cross. You can pick one up here.
postermat

Londoners! You should go to this show because I can’t + wish I could.
POSTERMAT, curated by Kathy Grayson + featuring works by Barry McGee, Harmony Korine, Aurel Schmidt + more. It’s all going down this Saturday, April 9th @ 18 Hewett Street.
orpheus’ pony

Orpheus’ Pony is 2,000 drawings animated by German artist Michael Fragstein. It’s a growing, evolving animation that eats itself + regrows over + over in the course of four minutes. Accompanied by some weird, semi French pop sounding soundtrack + all in black + white.

are you f*cking kidding me day 2011

Today is officially no longer known as Wednesday. From here on out, let’s remember today as Are You Fucking Kidding Me Day. It’s going to be one of those days. The kind that knocks you into next month. So in lieu of normal posts (just for today, promise), I wanted to leave you guys with a couple of my favorite recent time sucks on the interwebs.
Curated by my friend Richard Perez, Meowoodle is an awesome/funny collection of doodles, designs + illustrations of artists cats. As a new cat owner, kind of enthralled.
Daniel Weiss’ photoblog is a massive, consistently updated collection of NYC street photography in the vein of some of the classic 60′s street photographers. You could legitimately spend hours getting lost in these.
The latest project from Jeff @ Booooooom, Cover Song Archive. This is just fun. An evolving collection of well known cover songs performed by unknown musicians.
Kind of an older app but totally worth downloading if you haven’t scored it already. Arguably the most soothing application that’s ever existed; Dropophone let’s you compose soundscapes based on Lullatone’s Little Songs About Raindrops Good looking, simple interface + calming as shit. Matter of fact, I might be clocking some time on this bad boy later today.
25 Mind-Blowing Aerial Photographs From Around The World. Pretty self explanatory.
Back tomorrow!
NYC bound

Welp, I’m hitting the road this morning for New York City to handle some bid-niss for my day job. There may be some posts between now + the end of the week when we return but I can’t say for sure. Although, I’m going to do my best to see some art, eat a heroic amount of food + get down with the city that never sleeps in between meetings + cab rides so there may just be some quick posts/reviews/updates here + there. WU TANG.
Be back soon!
mike egan @ anno domini

My friend Mike Egan has what looks to be an amazing show setup at San Jose’s Anno Domini gallery now through April 6th appropriately titled Funerals (appropriate as Mike worked at a Pittsburg funeral home + paints fantastic dia de los muertos inspired art.) Check it out if you’re in the area!
rop van mierlo

Wild Animals, a book by designer/illustrator Rop van Mierlo is like a series of sunny, animal kingdom Rorschach tests for kids.
