Happy Labor Day, everybody. Here’s a little video of our drive back home from the beach. Posts return tomorrow!
3 questions: a question

Hi everybody,
Our regular Wednesday artist interview series will be taking a break this week but we’ll be back next Wednesday with the a new 3 questions installation, promise.
Since we’re taking today off, I wanted to ask everyone a question: if you could chose the next artist to be interviewed, who would you pick? Leave your suggestions in the comments + I’ll get cracking. Just, you know, don’t say George Lois or something. I don’t want my dreams crushed.

small victories in hong kong

If you know what the internet is, there’s a good chance you’ve been following the most recent project over on Booooooom, Small Victories. Jeff asked his readers to submit 4×6 photos via snail mail ONLY. The result will be a crazy exhibit in Hong Kong (!) at Above Second gallery. The exhibit opens next week + all y’all HK people need to go check it out. Look below the jump for the official poster + some select work from the show.
spring photos batch 3!
Here is the final batch of reader-submitted photos for the Golden Half Giveaway! I had a lot of fun at looking at everyone’s photos, so thank you to all who submitted. If you haven’t yet, don’t forget: the giveaway ends at midnight tonight, so there’s still time to get your name in there.

Erin Goldberger!
Baptiste Sola
It’s super rare that I get a submission from a reader for film or animation. It’s even more rare that I enjoy anything too abstract. But both happened today when Baptiste Sola submitted this short film, entitled “Je me figeais”. There’s something captivating about watching familiar shapes in such an unfamiliar way. As a viewer, I get the sense that someone’s just woken me up + I’m trying to bring the day into focus. Is that water or a fire?
Haiti Art Sale Fundraiser!
Hey everyone! My buddy Jeff over at Booooooom has organized a perfect little fundraiser to help further support the people of Haiti. Jeff’s rounded up an impressive group of artists including Peter Taylor, Hannah Stouffer, Betsy Walton, Jeffrey Bowman + others to sell art with 100% (100%!!!) of profits going towards relief in Haiti.
iMakeMyCase Winners!
You know you’re all winners in my eyes but here are the actual five winners for the iPhone case giveaway:
A big ‘thank you’ to everyone that entered! The response to the giveaway was huge! Much more than I had anticipated; you all are awesome. Expect more giveaways + contests to drop very, very soon.
Garden Chair
My new porch is a lonely oasis, without any outdoor furniture. I’ve been toying with the idea of building chairs from pallets for a few months + I love this pallet chair from graphic designer Stirling Tschan.
