Love him or hate him, it’s undeniable that the late Malcolm McLaren had a huge impact on music as we currently know it. After his passing last week, a number of well known faces came out of the woodwork to praise McLaren’s work with groups like the NY Dolls, Sex Pistols, Bow Wow Wow + Afrika Bambaataa. One seemingly unlikely fan was DJ Premier, who does an impressive job connecting dots between the punk pioneer + hip hop in the 80′s with a new mixtape tribute to McLaren.
