Paul Hiller

Paul Hiller’s photography is really sad. Not because it’s sparse or lonely, although it often is, but because it feels like he’s somewhere he shouldn’t be. Either no one approves of his presence or everyone has suddenly left. I guess that’s part of the experience of being a foreigner in different country. Or in Paul Hiller’s case, a bunch of different countries.
