Mikey Burton
I’ve gotta say, I really like the work of Philly’s Mikey Burton. A talented designer with a portfolio of straight-forward, clever graphic design. And, god damn–there’s a seriously wide variety of work contained therein: letterpress, tons of great identities, gig posters, t-shirts, book design, package design. And it’s all good. Crazy.
Aleksandra Waliszewska
Oh man, these paintings by Aleksandra Waliszewska are scary in the strangest way. Scenes of dismemberment and murder, aliens, beasts and Darger-esque little girls. Somehow there’s a balance in all of these that makes them seem innocent, ritualistic and frightening all at once.
Yuketen Boots
When you live in a city + you walk everywhere like I do…wait. Let me start over. When you live in a city that averages 100+ inches of snow a year, you need some quality boots. I love these handmade leather boots from US imprint Yuketen. I can’t find prices anywhere which probably means I [...]
HF Flickr Talent / Daeja Fallas
Daeja Fallas is a fashion photographer with a really elegant, classic style. She recently submitted some photos to the Flickr Group that really caught my eye. And there’s a story, it goes a little something like this: Daeja brought one of her film cameras on a trip to San Fransisco + snapped a roll of [...]
2010
Beautiful, short animation from Julien Nantiec. I don’t know what to make of this piece exactly. It’s kind of like infographics + outer-space sci-fi movie had a baby. Regardless, it’s a nice video for a new decade.
Romain Albertini
Romain Albertini is really, very…European. He produces angular, severe graphic design + illustration. Geometry is clearly his muse + he manipulates angles with a serious enthusiasm. Peep the polygonal Nike’s + the font made out of only 7′s on his site.
Garden Chair
My new porch is a lonely oasis, without any outdoor furniture. I’ve been toying with the idea of building chairs from pallets for a few months + I love this pallet chair from graphic designer Stirling Tschan.

Jens Olof Lasthein
It’s no secret that I have a mildly unhealthy obsession with all things Eastern European. Finding the series “White Sea Black Sea” by Jens Olof Lasthein was a complete visual overload. The series, which was shot in the area between the White Sea + the Black Sea in panoramic format, explores the divide that exists [...]
Toby Price
The UK’s Toby Price is a true weird-hunting master. His photographs deftly capture all of those “I wish I had my camera right now” moments.
